Equatorial Guinea and Ghana to Cooperate on Energy and Agriculture
The Government of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Ghana agreed to cooperate in energy and agriculture at meetings in Bata, Equatorial Guinea’s largest city and commercial capital, this week.
President Obiang met with Ghana’s special envoy, Bebaako Mensah, The Ghanaian delegation also met with the Minister of Mines, Industry and Energy, Marcelino Owono Edu, and others to establish relations between the two countries’ oil and gas sectors. The Ghanaian government wishes to establish cooperative relations with Equatorial Guinea in the exploitation of oil and gas.
In addition, both parties signed a memorandum of agreement on agriculture between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the company Sidalco Ghana Limited.
According to Ghana’s representative, Bebaako Mensah, “Ghana and Equatorial Guinea are two brother countries, and within that context we have discussed the economic and trade relations between Malabo and Accra, as well as the personal relations between the presidents.”
